The Black Edition of the Littmann Cardiology III Stethoscope features a chestpiece that has both adult and pediatric sides, each incorporated with a tunable diaphragm. This allows you to use both sides of the stethoscope, for monitoring high- and low-frequency sounds. The large side can be used for auscultating adult patients, while the small side is especially useful with pediatric or thin patients. This stethoscope also has a solid stainless steel chestpiece, two-tubes-in-one design, non-chill rims, adjustable double-leaf binaural spring and patented 3M Littmann snap-tight soft-sealing eartips.

I have purchased every stethoscope Littmann makes except the electronic ones, in search of the perfect scope. The Cardiology III is the BEST, even over the Master Cardiologist....at least for MY profession. I work on an ambulance and anything below the Cardiology III will not work on the wide variety of patients I encounter. The Master Cardiologist is a great scope OUTSIDE the ambulance or field environment, but WAY too sensitive for field work. The Cardiology III is THE perfect scope for all around use. In the hospital, in the field, and inside a noisy ambulance, you can't ask for a better scope!!
this is the best yet, Ii love the dual head setup that works well from my 9 lb patients to my 200lb teens with the same wonderful acoustics, thanks fo another great product!
This is my second one, I including others liked this stethescope so much that it got stolen at work. Even with my name laser etched on it??? What people will do. Keep an eye on yours, this one is flashy. Great tones, perfect for an assessment, BP's, lungs sounds, heart sounds etc...
I have been in EMS since 2007, and started out with a double tube scope. Got a Cardio III when I was in Paramedic school and did not realize what I was missing when listening to my patients. This is the only stethoscope that I have used that I can hear clear lung sounds and heart tones in the back of an ambulance even with the engine running and going emergency to the hospital. My old Cardio III black edition walked off at a ER but it is worth the cost to replace it with another littmann. I would recommend this model to anyone in EMS, ER, or other Critical Care areas where you have a mix of adult and pediatric patient.
