I practice Internal Medicine. I purchased this stethoscope to replace my Welch Allyn DLX Elite as the latter is much heavier. Packaging is nice. The performance of this electronic stethoscope is disappointing when compared to my 2 Welch Allyn devices. It says it has noise canceling feature, but it does a poor job at distinguishing what noises to cancel. When I am listening to the heart sounds and try to focus, it amplifies breath sounds and can seriously hurt ears. Also, sometimes, when I am listen to patients' chest and they try to tell me something I am used to listen to them through the stethoscope, this one "cancels" the voice. In conclusion, I firmly believe the regular Littman stethoscope, is a much better value. At this time, the idea of an electronic stethoscope (at least Littman 3100 and 3200) remain more of an experiment/gimmick than an advancement. Would I recommend this? Yes for fashion/No for performance. P.S. If you purchase this, do not engrave it, as it may preclude returning the product.
