This Second Edition of The Respiratory System and Asthma Anatomical Chart features simplified text and clearer images to facilitate patient comprehension. The chart shows the respiratory system and compares a cross-section of a normal bronchiole to an asthmatic bronchiole, with labels that point out mucus plug, bronchospasm, enlarged smooth muscle, inflamed surface epithelium, enlarged basement membrane, and inflamed bronchial tissue. Succinct text describes asthma, the conducting system, and gas exchange.
The chart also provides images and text to show how breathing works and visual icons to represent common asthma triggers: weather, exercise, irritants, allergens, illness, and pollution.
Unmounted: Printed on high-quality heavy paper appropriate for framing. (Note: Unmounted charts cannot be displayed on the chart stands.)
Laminated: Printed on high-quality paper with flexible 1.5 mil plastic lamination. Metal eyelets in each top corner for convenient wall hanging or for use with chart stands. Lamination also makes the chart "markable" allowing write-on / wipe-off. Easily rolls up for portability. This is the most popular mounting.
