All I can say about the stethoscope is wow! I am going to nursing school in September for my BSN, and this stethoscope will no doubt be perfect! My Mom and Aunt bought it for me as a graduation gift from community college. We just ordered my stethoscope 6 days ago and I just received it. I thought it would take longer because we ordered my name to be engraved on the head of the stethoscope. We had the head engraved because we read the many reviews about how doctors accidentally walk off with the nurses’ stethoscopes. The engraving is not covered by the logo, it can clearly be seen. We ordered the block style engraving, and it looks professional (which is what I wanted). The color of the stethoscope is ceil blue, which is a unique color that looks great! You can monitor high and low frequencies by simply holding the stem, and turning the diaphragm of the stethoscope. The sound on both ends of the diaphragm is amazing! I recommend buying this stethoscope. It is defiantly true that, “you get what you pay for,"

I ordered mine with Caribbean Blue tube and it arrived but the color is much darker than shown on the site. I had mine engraved and it arrived very fast.

I am a cardiology RN and my Littmann Classic II simply doesn't pick up on the nuances I need to detect to protect my patients. This stethoscope allows me to differentiate with confidence.

Way better than my other littman. I call it the Mercedes of stethescopes.

Now i know why a lot of physicians and nurses alike use and prefer this stethoscope. I can hear everything i need to and some other sounds that I don’t even know what they are. I bumped one star off because its not as amazing as other people were making it out to be. Now don’t get me wrong I can hear the things I need to hear but with some of my patients with COPD the lung sounds are so loud and constant that it makes it hard for me to auscultate for heart sounds, now given in time and experience I will be able to listen for the faintest of sounds. But all in all it is a great stethoscope and I love the plum tubing too!!

I bought a Cardiology III, have used these for years. I was attracted to the chocolate/copper combination and love it. You cannot go wrong with Littmann. great acoustics, flexible, light weight. I practice Internal Medicine/Hospital Medicine and hear everything I need to hear!

I was very undecided on what type of stethoscope I wanted. I chose the Cardiology 3 because it seemed meet my needs. I find the ear pieces very comfortable and was happy to have various of types of ear pieces included extra with my order. My previous stethoscope was much less expensive but you get what you pay for. I did have mine engraved just so there is no question as to who it belongs to. I can hear lung sounds much more clearer now. I would recommend this type to anyone.

Littmann Cardiology III was given to my son-in-law as a Graduation Gift upon completing his Bachelors Degree as a Registered Nurse. I was using a Litmann II Classic SE for about 3 years, and purchased the cardiology model because I now work on a heart floor. I honestly cannot tell a significant difference in auscultation, but think there is slightly better sound transmission in the cardiology model. A little heavier, but no deal breaker since it's not that noticeable. Overall satisfied and do not regret purchase. Bought the red tubing which looks fantastic monogrammed! The dual function double diaphragms are really nice for listening in small spaces.

I love the stethoscope. I had a ""hand-me-down"" Littmann II that has immense sentimental value to me, but the sound was not as clear as I had hoped for. Once I used my new Littmann III for the first time, I finally knew what a S2 split was!!! Enjoy! Oh - and the engraving is great.

Very nice quality, good sound quality, love that it has color options, although the plum purple isnt a very pretty shade, it is VERY plum to the point that it's almost not purple...all in all great quality though, feels very sturdy and you can hear like EVERYTHING with it, love that it comes with other earpieces as well so you can change it to different shaped ones that are more comfortable, depending on which ones you like best...love that you can also change what frequency you are listening to by how hard you push and that you can turn that off if you dont like it...the earpieces also blocks out outside noises amazingly

This is an incredible stethoscope. I just upgraded from the Littmann Classic SE II, and I couldn't be happier. The sound is much more clear, and I'm hearing some of the fine sounds that I was missing before. The item was shipped quickly, and it arrived in pristine condition. The only thing that irritated me was that the free shipping that is so prominently displayed on the site does not apply to littmann products. However, allheart still provided the best prices that I was able to find and I will definitely return when I need more supplies.

I've been carrying this stethoscope for almost 2 years now. I purchased it as a student for my clinicals and continue to use it as a professional RRT. I am able to CLEARLY hear breath sounds that others miss. I purchased mine in red and love that no one else seems to have that color. I can take blood pressures accurately. Also, when I auscultate, I can hear breath and heart sounds very clearly. I'm using this stethoscope for my nursing program, and it is a great one so far.

I was extremly excited when I recieved it in the mail. It ordered this to use while in Nursing school and for my career and so far it works great better than the cheap ones that I have used in the past. Great purchase and worth the money.

I work as a Paramedic and use this stethoscope on the ambulance. Even with a lot of noise (ie truck sounds), you are still able to hear blood pressures and lung sounds clearly. I am about to start nursing school and am very excited to use this during my career as a nurse!

I love this stethoscope! I can hear things clearly that were once very muffled. Lung sounds are clear as a bell, and the pediatric diaphragm works great on patients with difficult anatomy like barrel chestswhere you can't get a big diaphragm to lay flat.I tried to get it personalized, but the product did not say it couldn't be personalized, so they held my order and told me why, but I couldn't get through on the phone, so I e-mailed them and told them just send any color 'cause I really need the personalization- but they didn't read the e-mail until after they shipped the copper color without any personalization. I will say that I LOVE this color; I just wish it had my name on it somewhere.

I am very pleased with the stethoscope which I could have bought from several other vendors. I was not pleased with the price and ""hidden"" fee of an exaggerated shipping charge that made the price the same as other competitors. I also received the item > 10 days after I ordered and after paying almost $17.00 for shipping I expected it much sooner. So, for the item I will be recommending it to my colleagues but I do not recommend they purchase it through allheart. Thank-you for allowing me to comment.

Took a reasonae amount of time to come in and I love the sound quality! The pediatric diaphragm was what sold me. Taking a blood pressure is extremely easy now when before I had to have a silent room to hear before. I'd recommend to anyone in the medical field!

i think this is one of the littmann's great products.

I guess it's because it's made better than older stethoscopes, but I was expecting a stethoscope that was a little more hearty. The color I got was Carribbean Blue - a lot darker than I expected. The engraving was alright.

I must say that the product is excellent, and it was deliver has promise. If you don't mind waiting a week it is a must buy. Plus you save a ton of money. It's so much wort it.

The product is excellent. Works well and can hear great. I only got this model because of a hearing problem and it's like I never had one is the first place. Only thing I wasn't happy with was how long it took to ship. Ordered it a week and a half before class and it showed up the day before.

I had a hard time hearing lung sounds with my old stethoscope. With the Cardiology III I can hear lung sounds even in a noisy environment.I also like that it is convertible - you can remove the pediatric diaphragm and make it the bell side.

I really scored with Allheart's selection and expect to use this stethoscope for many years... unless it ""grows legs"" because it's so handsome. While the personalization isn't available on the black and bronze/brass, it's so distinctive and looks weighty. As for the sound quality - pure Littman dependability. Even though it's an upgrade for what our program requires (very, very basic) I didn't mind spending more for the excellent sound quality mentioned in other reviews. With Allheart's sale, it was extremely reasonable... ridiculously reasonable.

I was not aware that this stethascope tubing was 22 inches and that is too short for me, when I contacted customer service they told me I had to buy another tubing for $78 , the length on the tubing was not placed on the description when I selected it. I had the bell engraved so they wouldn't take it back. I was not aware that tubing on a stethascope came in different sizes if I had I certainly would not have ordered this short one, you have to get almost on top of the patient to examine. I spent alot of money on this and am diassatisfied . I am an RN in a large cardiology office and was recommended by one of the other nurses of all heart. I wish you would reconsider and replace my tubing to the regular 27 inch Thank you Dottie Hester RN

I'm a bit hard of hearing in one of my ears & this stethoscope enhances every last sound, it's simple amazing. The soft ear pieces create a very nice seal & allows for better acoustics as well as a very comfortable fit. The bell is a bit heavier then my last Littmann Classic & I occasionally get myself in the face when I wear it around my neck, but I'll just have to get use to that. I've been wanting this stethoscope for a long time & it was a great purchase & I love to use it.

I decided it was time to upgrade my 16 year old cardiology Littmann stethescope for new. My old worked so well I thought perhaps I wouldn't be able to notice much difference. I was pleasantly surprised to find how wrong I was. I love this stethescope! Very loud and clear sounds, both low or high frequency. Love the flexible tubing! I purchased it on sale and it wasn't really that expensive, so I had it engraved as well. Very, very nice. I am sure it will last me the rest of my career.

I can finally here what I am supposed to be hearing - has lifted my confidence during my Nursing rotation - only wish I would have purchased it a year ago! I Will always have this one and won't need another. I would recommend it to anyone having difficulties hearing with a regular diagnostic stethoscope.

The stethoscope was in great condition when received. It took a little bit longer than expected to get it, but it was well worth it. The Littman Cardiology III works well, I used it for the first time in clinical today and I could heard every sound clearly. The last stethoscope I had was a Littman Classic which was ok, but it broke and it wasn't as clear. I would recommend this product for anyone from a nursing student to a physician.

I ordered a monogrammed Littman III, but it arrived without the monogram. I sent it back two weeks ago and still have not received the replacement or heard from All Heart. I am very disappointed in this customer service, and hope that the correct replacement will be arriving shortly.

I recommend this stethoscope over any others. As a med/surg/ICU nurse, it's very versatile. I can use it for both adults and pediatric patients. You can hear heart and lung sounds very well and through several layers of clothing.

The sound on this is great, definitely worth it if you can afford the splurge! Would buy it again.

I am just beginning Nursing school and this Littmann Cardio III stethoscope appears be an awesome so far. Great sound quality. Typically, from what I've know students wouldn't need one that cost quite this much, however I wanted the best. And the price is reasonable for the quality and caliber of this product. I would recomment paying the small extra fee for engraving or monogram of your name. I had my name put on the tube arc and Allheart did a great job!

I have difficulty hearing, even everyday things, so hearing heart and lung sounds has been difficult for me, to say the least... Since using the Cardiology III, I am hearing so much more than I knew I could! I am able to hear the sounds from the videos and learning 'dummies' in nursing school... The acoustics in this stethoscope are amazing!

I ordered this as a birthday present for my son who lives in another State. The stated delivery time was very different from the actual, so it did not arriove until 2-3 days later than I had planned. He was very happy with the product and one of his nursing co-workers purchased this stethescope after tyring his.

Shipping costs could be a little cheaper however when you consider that you are already buying an expensive but awesome stethoscope it makes sense.

A previous Classic II user I was finding i was missing faint adventitious sounds in my VERY loud work environment. Color choices have gotten better for this model... if you can at all afford it... go for it, you won't be sorry!!!

I bought this stethascope in 2000 after CNA class and am still using it today as a RN. Do look up care instructions though. I did not and now after 11 years need a new tubing peice. I work in the PICU and get newborns to 20 year olds so the dual bell comes in handy.

I'm a first year in Veterinary school, and my last stethoscope was a cheap $20 model. This is infinitely superior. I can actually hear a heartbeat that doesn't sound like a muffled thump, but a nice lub-dub like it's supposed to! The Cardiology III was less expensive and much clearer than I expected from a dual sided scope.

The Cardiology III is a good stethoscope, I also have a LItman Master Cardiology, which is probably a tad better acoustically, , but it does not have the bell/smaller diaphragm. I think for the majority of clinical applications you won't notice the difference.

This is my second Littmann stethoscope and I love it just as much as the first one. The only thing that makes this one better was being able to get it engraved.

I absolutely love this stethoscope and would recomend it to anyone! My engraving looks great too. I am a little disappointed that the color of tubing doesn't look like the color online. Oh well, minor details.

I use this mostly in the back of an ambulance. This stethoscope is great for tuning out the loud diesel engine and sometimes even the siren if its a bad day. I have used it for about 2 months now and couldn't be happier!

I bought this item for my Wife. She is a nurse for one of the many cardiac floors at TGH, so having a good steth is important. I decided to spend the extra to get this model since I had over heard at the hospital that Litmann was the ""Cadalac of stethoscopes"" That was no lie. My wife claims that she has never heard a heartbeat so clearly before.

This my second Littman in 17 yrs. Good quality sound for heart and lung assessments.

The best stethoscope I have ever had.

This tubing is much more flexible and soft than my previous Littman. The copper color is just something fun to break the monotony, plus less likely to be confused with someone else's stethoscope. The acoustics are great. Great price and was in stock. I used to carry around two stethoscopes; this makes it easier. Also, the acoustics of the infant scope are not great, but I still miss the light weight of the infant one.

It was shipped fast and even had the engraving done. Its great for someone like me who sees both adult and pediatric patients in the emergency room.

Really choice Littmann acoustics. I had to use another brand while I waited. There is a difference.But when I hang it around my neck, it wont lie flat. It catches on stuff. It's not enough to return it. But frustrating.

The stethoscope is great! Cosmetically the color is true to the color shown on the computer. I got my name laser inscribed on the curvature of the stethoscope and it is legible, and does not rub off. The laser inscription is worth the extra 15 dollars. The stethoscope itself has the most clear and audible sound I have ever experienced in a stethoscope. It came with both the adult and the pediatric bells plus the diaphragm just as it said it would. Additionally it came with extra ear pieces. It is lighter weight than the older cardiology stethoscopes yet still a little on the heavy side. It only took a week to get it from point of purchase to delivery and because I have a unique name a lady called me to verify the inscription before the stethoscope was inscribed. Overall I am pleasantly pleased with my purchase and would recommend this stethoscope to anyone who would benefit from having both the peds and adult bell and who thrives on providing accurate pt care.

Can't rave enough about this stethoscope. I was concerned about the added heft, but there's not a terribly noticeable difference between the Cardiology III and the Master Classic II in terms of weight.

One would have to be hearing impaired to not hear every nuance of a heart beat, respiratory sounds, or bowel sounds heard through this scope. The only scope better than this refined instrument is one which is electronically amplified.

This product helps me hear the heart and lungs with much more clarity than my Littman Classic II.

I am a paramedic in a busy, noisy urban EMS system. It is absolutely necessary to carry a high quality stethoscope that allows for zoning out background noises of the moving ambulance, sirens, angry family members.. Awesome acoustics, great for lung sounds and heart sounds. Purchased the bright red only because black and blue Littman's tend to ""walk off"" when put down for even a second when at the hospital or when left in BLS unit. Can see it across the truck and never seem to forget it (which is strange for me since I would lose my head if it wasn't attached)

Always satisfied with this stethoscope. The diaphrams tend to fall off because of band holding the diaphrams in place get worn. I am replacing the diaphrams for the second time in 3 years. The difficulty is finding the replacement on line. I found the replacements with first time and now I'm searching on line again.

I'm super happy with this. I recently started working in the ICU and having a stethoscope you can actually hear through is super important. Tubing is much more flexible then my old stethoscope and it arrived very quickly, especially considering I had it engraved, which I highly recommend. You don't want this little gem getting lost or stolen. Even though the price is excellent I wouldn't want to have to buy it again! :-) Highly recommend!

I bought this for veterinary school and even though I haven't gotten to use it much, but I can already tell that when compared to some of my classmates, I a better product for the cost then many.

I always had problems hearing from some cheaper stethoscopes. That's why I bought this one. I love it, I can hear a lot better! This was really important to me since I'm a nusring student and I'm trying to learn all the different sounds. Also, the color was just as pictured . I got the brown one.

The Cardiology III may be more expensive than other scopes like the Classic line, but dollar for dollar you don't get more for your money with the Cardio III. You could step up to a higher end model like the Master Cardiology...but I'm a BSN nursing student with a Subaru, not a Cardiologist with a BMW. Drop the extra $10 and have your name and phone number engraved on the bell...if you lose it you may get it back this way, and if there's ever a question of whose scope it is...well....IM not so HO, don't listen to those that say, 'get the cheap $40-$60 scope for school and buy the $150 scope when you start your practice. Rather, get the tools you need now to learn properly. Would you use a cheap basic solar calculator to get through calculus I-IV then buy your first scientific graphing calculator after you got your PhD in theoretical math?? Why make you medical education more challenging than it already is??

I gotta say that I love this Stethoscope I am a Paramedic student and work as an EMT and this by far exceeds my expectations. I thought all Stethoscopes were the same but I can hear everything much clearer now even in the back of ambulance. I also loved how prompt the service and shipment was for my order. I like the color but I must say that the engraving would have looked better in white but I still love it. As always the sound quality with a Littmann is fabulous. I previously had the 27"" Cardiology III, which was stolen. That stethoscope bothered me at times because it was long and heavy, so I decided on the shorter one. The 22"" frequently falls off if I am wearing it around my neck. But that is my only complaint. I wouldn't buy any other stethoscope.

I ordered a stethoscope and requested engraving on it for my daughter for Christmas. The order said allow three extra days for engraving which meant it wouldn't get there by Christmas. I've heard sounds that I and, apparently, other nurses have never heard on some patients. The clarity of heart, lund and abdomen sounds is super.

The Littman Cardiology III is comfortable in the ears and around the neck. It provides great quality sound. I tried the Littman Lightweight before the cardiology III. I found it difficult to hear well even on blood pressures. My advise..pay the extra for the cardiology III; you will be glad you did.

This was a christmas present for my daughter. She was thrilled.

The Littman Cardiology series in my opinion is the best on the market. I have been in EMS for over 10 years and have used many different stethoscopes and found that the Littman Cardiology Series delivers the best and clearest sounds in high and low range without having to deal with outside ""static noise"" from the tubing. The Littman Cardiology Series is also extremely durable and I find it the easiest to clean.

I got upgraded from the Classic II to the Cardiology III for Christmas and it was like a whole new world in my ears!! As an ICU nurse, lung and heart sounds are so important and I couldn't believe how much more clearly I could hear the sounds in my patients. I got the red and the color is great- I got lots of comments on the bright, hard to miss, HARD TO STEAL pretty red color. Totally worth the price for yourself or as a gift!! The LCIII is a great gift for my son, who is heading off to medical school next fall. It is much better acoustically than my own older Littman cardiology stethoscope. Allheart did a great job with the personalized engraving and delivery.

I had a littman in the past and the tubing was stiff. This product has flexible tubing which makes it last longer and easier to store.

I prefer the Tycos but for the money this is far better than the ADC-a useful investment for patient assessment. I am a 30 year vetern of ER/critical care cardio and a good scope can make a huge difference in decision making and care.

Pretty much what I wanted.

I decided to get the III because my hearing is horrible and thought it would help. This stepthescope is so loud, but it a good way. It blocks out a lot of other sounds too, which is very helpful. I'm a nursing student and about to start clinical rotation soon so I havent had a chance to test it out, however I know that I'm already ahead of the gang because I bought a much better stethescope. Get your name engraved too because this one likes to get stolen,I chose Carribean blue and the color on the picture is not the color you get. Mine looks much darker. I also got my name engraved in script. If i could reorder or return, I would stick with black and get the other font instead of script

I am currently working on a ambulance and most of my time I am not able to try hear under the perfect circumstances, I have always loved Littmann and this is just another reason why.

As a nursing student at an inner city hospital I really didn't want or need such a nice stethescope. But my husband surprised me with it anyway. It turns out I never knew what sounds I was missing until I began using the Littmann Cardio III. Honestly, I don't need it but I do very much enjoy using it. My old double tubed hand-me-down pales in comparison. The Littmann allows me to auscultate easier and simply makes hearing lungs sounds, etc much louder and clearer. These are sounds I may have heard with my old stethescope, but now I really know what I am hearing and have a little more confidence doing assessments.

The stethoscope is great...no reason to get the classic when you can get the cardio III. I ordered 'caribbean blue' and it's really more of a deep green than the light blue that its advertised as. The engraving is placed weird (right next to all of the Littmann logos) on the bell, there are much better places to put it. It took over 10 days for my stethoscope to come in the mail... there are a lot of other places out there where you can get it engraved and at your doorstep in just a few days. Lastly, they didn't give examples of all of the fonts for engraving, so I chose blindly. It would have been really nice to see examples.

I am a nursing student who will be graduating in December. My old stethoscope was a cheap one that I had purchased when I was a CNA. I recently bought the Littmann Cardiology III and am so very happy with it! I can hear respiratory, heart sounds, bowel sounds...everything. My only regret is that I didn't buy it at the beginning of Nursing school. I would highly recommend this stethoscope. Worth every penny.

I am pleased with the sound quality I get from this stethoscope. The one I purchased is black and the only problem I notice with it is that it is a lint magnet. I am regularly cleaning my stethoscope, but keeping it stored in my pocket it always comes out looking dirty. If the tubing wasn't so shiny and tacky, I don't think it would be such an issue.

The Cardiology III is the best performing stethoscope in this price range. I have compared it to several others my colleagues have and it is everything they have and more! The twin tube makes all the difference in the world.

in paramedic school, have not used it a lot so far- can already see a huge difference from the steth. i used to use, granted the price is high esp. for the times- if a person wants to really learn about lung sounds--being: hear them as clearly as possible to remember them and know what they're hearing... definately a smart purchase

the littmann cardiology stethoscope is absolutely the best in terms of being able to hear all heart and lung sounds. in the real world where you have to listen through clothes sweaters and gowns and in noisy emergency rooms, it is awesome. don't waste your time with the foreign made knockoffs. the knockoffs are definitely cheaper but believe me the tradeoff is not worth it.

My stethescope came promptly and the personalization was correct. Though I haven't had too much experience with auscultation I've really liked the Cardiology III so far. The earpieces are ergonomically fit and the choice of colors was great too.

The Littman Cardiology III stethoscope has a versatile head, and sounds are very clear. By far, this is the best stethoscope I have ever used.

I can hear EVERYTHING with this stethoscope which caused a small problem for me. As a new nursing student, I was hearing many sounds while listening to the apical heart beat and sounds at the level of the mitral and tricuspid valves. My instructor actually had me ""dummy down"" to a lesser stethoscope so I wouldn't hear as many sounds. Now that I can differentiate between these sounds, the Litmann is perfect and I can hear sounds others in my class can't!

Very satisfied with this stethoscope. Although I am only a first year med student, I can hear all sounds clearly and easily. And the colors great!

The only negative I have about my scope is that the color is not exactly what i thought it would be and not my favorite but color doesnt matter. It sounds great and the personalization was well worth the extra 10 bucks!

this is quality stethoscope and much cheaper than any other online store, not to mention medical supply stores. however laser engraving is not worth the money, it is in childish font, far from neat elegant appearance suitable for physician.

I love my stethoscope! It came in super speedy. I was surprised to find it on my doorstep so quickly. A little pricey especially with tax, but worth it.

This scope by far is way better than the Classic II I had. You can hear much better and I was able to pick up an S4 heart sound that I could not hear with my Littmann Classic. I have only had for a few weeks but already I am impressed. And for such a great price I couldn't be happier. I also love the red; one of my attendings wanted to get one of her own after seeing mine!

Stethoscope received was in brand new condition. Delivery was fast, secure and efficient. Only wish that the engraving should be more than 18 characters.

This stethoscope started out very reasonably priced. However, when I had my name engraved on it and we added in the shipping it became a more moderate priced item. I would shop at AllHeart again, but I would have more reasonable expectations about the overall cost next time.

Im glad I got this item for the sale price! It is pretty expensive but it is well made. One complaint I have is the choice of colors. I ordered plum because I didn't really like the other colors and didn't really want black, which was my other choice. I do like the stethoscope and think that it's worth the money. It's a beutiful and practical instrument and the sound quality is excellent. The only stethoscope most of us will ever need. I found the instructions on how to remove the diaghphram a little confusing initially as the drawing makes it look like the rim of rubber around the diaghphram comes off as well, but figured it out eventually.

I own this same model and recently purchased one for my niece who is graduating from nursing school. They are a little more expensive but the sound quality is worth it. The rotating bell allows it to be used for peds or listening to carotids. Very durable. Now that nurses are doing more in the assessment field, these stethascopes are not just for doctors.

It is as expected a very good product that was properly sent with no problems. Very good store, I would use it again.

I have had this same stethescope since 1998 and I love it!! I bought this stethescope foe my sister that just graduated from Nursing School, and was disappointed in the fact that it was very short!! There were sizes available this time and I measured mine, but it was longer than the 22 inch but shorter than the 27 inch. I chose the 22 inch and was quite shocked how short it was!!! Would have returned it, but, had it personalized. My sister liked it, but, she didn't like the fact that you had to be so closed to the patient, esp. when they are coughing in your face! Love the scope just disappointed in the length!!

I am pleasantly surprised how much better I am auscultating my patients. One becomes use to one's stethoscope but I have the transtion very easily. Great product...

The sound quality is better than any previous stethoscope I have owned. The earpieces are comfortable. The two heads are smaller and lighter than previous two head stethocopes. A chill ring is present. The 22 inch length will fold over one time and fit in the pocket of my white labcoat. I had my name engraved on the metal head, this is a small extra charge, but worth it.

Great acoustics, comfortable, my real issue is allheart not stating length of tube. Littman makes the Cardio III in 22in and 27in, this is the 22in which makes it awkward and uncomfortable wearing around the neck.

The Littman Cardiology III has the best acoustics of any stethoscope I have used, including the Master Cardiology. It is heavy, but that is why it sounds so good. As a side note to the previous review regarding lifespan of this scope, you can purchase replacement tubing for substantially less money than a new stethoscope. The head of the scope is the most expensive part, and can be removed and switched to new tubing fairly easily. Allheart sells replacement tubing.

My hubby surprised me with this Cardiology III stethoscope in my last year of nursing school when I told him I wanted to get one once I graduated and could afford it. It's been in use over 7 years now, and still looks and sounds just like when I first got it. You can hear pretty much everything with this; I once found a faint heart murmur in a patient while listening! Awesome for assessing lung sounds and hard-to-hear bowel sounds too. The only downsides to this model are the weight after it's on your neck for several hours, and I don't like to take blood pressures with it due to picking up other sounds in the arm as well (the acoustics are that sharp). I consider those minor inconveniences compared to the overall function of this model. I recommend spending the money and considering it a great investment, it will pay for itself in no time at all!

I love my Cardiology III, but I would not say it is the last stethoscope you will buy for the rest of your life. I have had mine for about 20 years. I have gotten great service from it and have been VERY satisfied with it. It is, however, getting to the end of its life. The tubing has finally started to stiffen and that seems to make it a bit harder to handle and hear with. Not that I am complaining, but I just want you to go into your relationship with your Cardiology II with your eyes wide open. Well worth the cost and a really great stethoscope, but you may have to purchase another one before you retire.

ok, so yes it is expensive. yes, it is an investment.. but you won't have to buy another stethoscope for the rest of your life after you get this. the only gripe i have about this is that it is SO heavy! having it hang around your neck all day is painful. i've had this steth for 3 years now. still great.

I just started nursing school with this stethoscope. Many other students purchased cheaper stethoscopes and are unable to hear faint heart sounds. However, with my Littmann, I can hear even the faintest of sounds. Very comfortable ear pieces, and I love that you can personalize it.
